The Allen Invasion, Chapter Seven

 

Soooo...I didn't update this legacy at all in 2020. But I have a reason. I did play it sometimes, you see, but having five toddlers, one child, and six adults is just so goddamn unpleasant to play that when I played, it was for like a sim day and then I'd shut this file and leave it alone for a month or two. I wanted to progress the family but I just couldn't get through having so many toddlers. Eventually I got through some birthdays playing this horrible pattern, and then it got a lot easier and just became the normal level of chaos that I look for in my sims families. I also relaxed my standards by, like, A LOT. So will this be the most accomplished gen? Heck no. But will I get through it and keep the legacy running? Yeah. I'm proud to say all the kiddos are children by the end of this chapter, and I'm feeling a lot better about playing the Allens.

Now, since it's been over a year, here's a quick catch-up: Sasha Allen, an alien and very irresponsible doctor, married Wendy, another alien and somewhat famous novelist, and they raised six children on top of a bulldozed penthouse, eventually building up a boxy and empty mansion. Aspen and Brady, two of those six children, tied in the poll, so they are dueling heirs. Whoever produces the third gen heir will be named the "true" heir for gen. 2, but currently they're both raising their families at the same time in this penthouse, which is gradually being built up room by room into a luxury home. Aspen is a scientist and married Mike, a painter, and together they had December, who is currently the only kid, and then twins Felix and Fritz. Brady, a botanist, married Ava, a low-level tech guru, and they had Emery and twins Gulliver and Gustavo. December just grew up at the end of the last chapter, but Emery, Felix, Fritz, Gulliver, and Gustavo are all toddlers. And that's where we're at. Phew! Let's get started...

The Allen Invasion, Chapter Six

Welp, apparently I can manage about two updates before I tucker out. In reality, life got in my way in several big ways (good: new apartment opportunity caused a sudden move; bad: two ER visits, a bad fall resulting in injury, and an ongoing health scare; neutral: school as always) but I am taking this small breather of winter break to get caught up. To my surprise, this is the only chapter I had ready to go, so I actually get to play to catch up more on all my legacies and joint legacies, so that's kind of fun. I appreciate anyone who is still reading these despite my erratic updating schedule. <3 <3 <3

Anyway, we left last chapter with our dueling heirs (Aspen and Brady, above) each having a new spouse, a new toddler, and with both Brady's wife, Ava, and Aspen pregnant. Let's get to it . . .

Last time on The Allen Invasion, the family had a roof over their heads for the first time with the arrival of The Box, the twins became teens, the triplets became children, and Sasha and Wendy had a sixth child because hey, why not? Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, we ended with a fire and Sasha is one operation short of a promotion. Now let's check in! The Allen Invasion, Chapter Two

Hello and welcome again to The Allen Invasion, an all-alien legacy where we're trying to build a lasting legacy atop a high rise! We're . . . not very far in that goal, no matter how you measure it, but especially if you measure it by 'building.' Last chapter, you got to know our lovely founder, Sasha Allen (pictured above), and got to meet her twins and then her surprise triplets with wife Wendy. The two alien ladies now have one girl and four boys to raise on the top floor of the apartment complex. How are we going to manage all that going on when the only thing walled in is the bathroom? Well, read on . . .

Whoa, another legacy? Yeah, I kind of can't help myself. This one has been brewing for a while and City Living was the final tipping point for making it become an actuality.
